Who We Are
The Indiana FOP Labor Council Inc, helps its members navigate the complexities of contracts, grievances, wages, hours, working conditions, and other labor issues. Benefits of joining The Labor Council include:
Full-service union representation for all members, regardless of department size
Expert union contract negotiation, creation, and management
No cost training opportunities
Involvement at the Labor Council's annual meeting
Payment of all expenses (including transcripts), research, fact-finding, and arbitration
Access to free legal counsel, advocating for your best interests
The benefit of having a knowledgeable advocate who can offer legal counsel and expert negotiating skills far outweighs the membership cost. Monthly dues are based on the yearly Certified Salary Report (available on the State FOP website) resulting in dues equaling one-half of the hourly wage per officer. The Indiana FOP Labor Council Inc. maintains this affordable, high-value offering by focusing on services that directly benefit members.
Working alongside skilled negotiators, you will choose a bargaining team who represents your voice at the table. Your contract is tailored to the unique nature and needs of your workplace. When a tentative agreement is reached, you will be able to read and review the agreement prior to voting. The proposal will then be voted on by the membership for ratification.
